The Program Supervisor has hands on work with foster families and youth in care. This will include assessing youth and family goals to assess for the best interest of the youth, working with foster parents with youth in their care, keeping records of all youth and foster parents, and training of foster parents. Will ensure all staff members are trained to DCFS standard, and will oversee provision of services to all families and youth.
* Assess, develop and execute plan to achieve performance for the child, including return to family, adoption, transfer of custody, independent living, or other alternative plans. * Provides services to a caseload of children removed from their homes by court order, voluntary surrender, or voluntary placement agreement and placed in a foster home or more restrictive setting. * Oversees the placement to ensure the child's well being. * Assesses probability of return to family and plans for the child's permanence * Develops and implements recruitment plan for certifying perspective foster and adoptive families * Prepares and conducts extensive orientation and training for potential foster and adoptive families * Examines and evaluates information gathered about families, housing, and environment in relation to provider criteria and licensing regulation for certification of perspective foster homes * Completes home studies as required * Recommends approval or denial of certification of perspective foster homes based on a combines evaluation and assessment process * Re-evaluates for continues annual recertification for foster homes * Develops and implements a corrective action plan to correct any deficiencies * Maintains listing of all foster and adoptive homes in the area and recommends appropriate resources to workers placing children * Other duties as assigned.
* Master's degree from an accredited school of social work * Two years of experience in child placement * Valid driver's license * Ability to communicate orally and in writing
