Rapides Regional Medical Center is currently hiring an Occupational Therapist.
The acute care Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with a variety of disorders, focusing on resuming normal/baseline function in the area of self care and activities of daily living. The staff OT will also perform administrative duties inherent to the position and will assist in clinical affiliation programs for students.
Primary Job Duties:
Evaluation of adults with CVA, head injury, progressive neurological diseases, and general debilitation
Evaluation of pediatric and adolescents with head injury or other disease process affecting self care and ADLs.
Development of treatment plans and administration of the prescribed treatments
Re-assessment of goals and modification of treatment plans based on patients performance
Proper consultation with physician and other staff regarding patients care
Education of family/patient on treatment, precautions, and home programs
Attending staffing regarding patient care upon discharge
Completion of all pertinent paperwork, including evaluation, daily notes, and discharge summaries
Assisting in clerical duties.
Bachelors Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current and valid licensure in the state of Louisiana
Completion of all continuing education requirements as specified by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
Must maintain current CPR (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers)
