The Chase Auto Business Development and Strategy team is striving to build new strategic
partnerships and alliances with automotive manufacturers, leading emerging and non-traditional
counterparties and automotive dealer groups. These partnerships are critical the future success of
the Chase Auto business and bring together the assets of the firm to create "OneChase"
opportunities to delight our customers. In addition to developing new strategic partnerships, the
business development team is responsible for renewing existing partnerships and re-imagining the
way we structure these strategic arrangements. Establishing these partnerships requires careful
strategic consideration and the ability to marshal cross-functional resources within the business
and across the firm to collaborate and win the business within these segments. The Chase Auto
business development organization is evaluated on its ability to efficiently and effectively evaluate,
negotiate and launch new partnerships to drive business results. We are looking for a smart,
dynamic and highly motivated candidate to join our team and deliver the desired results.
The Business Development Manager will report to the Chase Auto Business Development
Executive Director with responsibility in these segments.
The successful candidate will develop partnerships with automotive manufacturers, automotive
dealer groups and other industry players to create new revenue streams and grow the Chase Auto
business. This includes all facets of development from deal construct and ideation, key term
development, financial business case and negotiation of contract, as well as, integration with
business unit delivery/build teams.
? Work cross-functionally within Chase Auto, JPMC and externally in the market to develop
strategic automotive partnerships
? Identify, engage and secure strategic automotive partnerships that drive business results
and support the business strategy
? Collaboratively develop strategy and business proposal with cross-functional peers for
respective deals and partnership 'pitches'
? Develops and delivers partnership proposals for opportunities under responsibility, while
ensuring data shared is accurate and appropriate to share
? Work in conjunction with legal, finance and other teams to develop financial business case,
deal constructs, agreement language and other key terms associated with partnership
? Collaborate with Automotive Leadership Team members, business General Managers and
key constituents to secure renewals or any desired changes for current partners
? Ensure all deals and business development activities are executed in accordance with
policies, controls and business development procedures Qualifications
? Minimum 5 years automotive industry experience, preferably within an automotive
manufacturer, large automotive retailer and/or automotive captive finance company.
? Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
? Partnership or strategic alliance development experience strongly desired; experience
within financial services is preferred
? Must have negotiation, contracting or other expertise
? Ability to work independently and create goals and vision for delivery in ambiguous or
? Understanding of the dynamics of financials, mechanics of manufacturer incentives,
financing, and variable sensitivity
? Ability to problem-solve and clearly articulate objectives and the required path(s) to
implement new process/program
? Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with desire of using both in
collaboration with potential partners and internal stakeholders
? Sense of urgency with disposition to execute and a demonstrated career of successful
? Proven exceptional relationship building skills both inside and outside the organization
? Proven experience in working across departments, lines of business within large
