The Innovations Analyst position will lead efforts in developing and implementing custom fraud prevention and detection solutions in big data environment.It will also require a strong analytical orientation and an understanding of risk management fundamentals.

Candidate will be responsible for:
  • Migrating complex algorithms from existing legacy systems to the big data eco-systems.
  • Developing analytical solutions to enable efficiencies within existing processes and fraud prevention strategies.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing innovation capabilities to drive process effectiveness and deliver results
  • Conducting data quality analyses to ensure accuracy.
  • Support ad-hoc risk policy analysis and projects as required.

  • Leadership Competencies

  • Ability to lead independently, think strategically and relay recommendations on differences between big data solution methods and the advantages/disadvantages of each.
  • Ability to independently challenge status-quo, identify opportunities, investigate issues and propose corrective alternatives
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills required for successful collaborations across different verticals
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization

  • Business and Technical Requirements

  • 5+ years of exposure to big data ecosystem and related tools and technologies with experience in financial industry preferred.
  • Development experience with high level understanding of Hadoop framework and Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Expert knowledge of MapReduce and MapReduce platforms like Pig or Hive.
  • Experience in SAS/SQL/R/Python preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or business or equivalent experience
