General Overview: The Human Resource and Training Specialist is responsible for achieving recruiting, training, HR, and Organizational Development objectives. This individual performs all responsibilities on a professional level and works closely with management to support the overall mission of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding and training, and organizational development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Recruitment: Establishing recruiting requirements by meeting with managers to discuss needs; evaluating applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers B u i l d i n g a p p l i c ant s o urces b y a d v er t i si n g o p en p ositi o ns on th e c o m p any Career Center (ADP) , I n d ee d ,and t h e c om p a ny w eb s i t e and d e v el op i ng/executings t r a t e gi ca p p l i c ants o ur c i ng t e c h n i q uesand r ecr u i ti ngs o l u t i ons Support the Human Resource Manager with recruitment agency relationships and related responsibilities A rrang i ng i n t er v i e w s b y c o or d i na t i ng s c h edule s a n d f ollow i ng u p w i t h a pp l i c an t s a nd hi r i ng man a g e rs I n i t i a te t h e o n b oar d i n g p ro c ess b y r ea c h i ng out t o a p p l i c an t s w i t h off e rs and c o n d u ct i ng p r e - e m p loy m ent processes Schedule, coordinate and manage monthly onboarding agenda with presenters and new hires B u i l d and m a i n t ain s t rong rela t i on s h i p s w i t h c a n d i d a t es and h i r i n g m a na g ers and ensu r e a h i g h le v el o f c us t omer ser v i c e Utilize HRIS (ADP) and databases appropriately to include keying required data and producing monthly reports C rea t i n g and ma i n t a i n i n g t h e c o m p anys p res e nce on l o c al c olle g e c a m p uses b y r e g i s t er i ng a nd a tt ending c a r eer fairs and b u i l di ng rel at i on s h i p s w i t h c oll eg e p rofess o rs, d e p ar t m e nt h ea d s, and co-op program c o or di na t ors Man a g e co-op p ro g ram b y re c r u i t i n g from c areer f a i r s, and online college/university websites Tracks and reports on recruiting metrics and other HR metrics as required Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law Training Support and assist the training committee, managers and employees at all levels to identify and assess training and development needs Ensure employees receive required training Assist with managing co-op and mentor programs Research and implement various learning methods company wide (e.g., coaching, job shadowing, online training) Manage the on-line LMS (Go-1) company wide; reviewing courses and making recommendations to improve employee development and growth Monitor training costs and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures Coordinate training activities, select and assign instructors Schedule training based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors Coordinate t h e onboarding agenda and tra i n i n g p rog r ams b y i d entif y i n g and d e v el o pi n g t ra i n i ng p r o g r ams a nd c our s es Other: S u pp or t H uman R esou r c es d e p ar t m ent in e m p loy e e rela t i ons e n d eavor s , i ncl u d i ng, but not limited to p rom ot i n g h ea lt h, wellness,and s a fety, i m p r o vi n g e m p loy e e morale, a nd m a i n t ain i ng a n e m p loye e -f r i end l y at mo s ph e re Assist with managing the budget, including reconciliation Keep employee files up to date A ss i s t w i t h o t h er H u m a n R esources t a s k s a s n eed e d or w h e n s c h edul i ng c onf l ic ts arise, i nclu d i ng a s sis t i n g w i t h em p loy e e n e eds a nd q u es ti ons,e m p loyee on b oar d i n g , and training Assist in c oor d i na t i n g, p r o mo t i n g , a nd fa c i l i t a t i ng c om p a ny e ve n t s, i nclu d i n g c o m p any pi c n i c , Ch r i s t mas p ar t y, e m p l o yee rec o g ni t i o n e v ents, p o t lu ck s,et c . O t h er d ut i es as r e q u i red and assigned Requirements Requirements: Bachelors degree and at least 3 years of Human Resource experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with ADP and ADP recruitment module, a plus Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems Physical Requirements: Must be capable of remaining in a stationary sitting position, occasionally moving about the office; prolonged standing; occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor; bending/reaching; climbing; balancing; bending; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling; handling; feeling; talking; hearing; depth perception; visual accommodation; color vision; field of vision; near acuity; far acuity; and strength. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
